Peter W. Dicce

ADISL Commissioner,

Assistant Dean of Students & Director of Athletics at NYU Abu Dhabi

Pete Dicce joined NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) as its Director of Athletics in 2010. Upon welcoming the university’s inaugral class, he set the vision and provided the leadership for NYUAD’s intercollegiate sport and recreational programming. Pete is the driving force behind the Abu Dhabi Inter-University Sports League (ADISL), the only university sports league in the UAE. Established in 2012, ADISL has rapidly grown to include over 15 universities throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi offering more than 1,000 students sporting opportunities throughout the academic year. ADISL has provided platform for university students to collaborate, compete and community build.

 

Pete is a graduate of Temple University (B.A.), Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D.) and Virginia Commonwealth University (M.Ed.).

Charif Rabah

ADISL Assistant Commissioner,

Sports and Activities Coordinator, Student Affairs at Zayed University

A pillar in the UAE sporting community, Charif continues to be instrumental in developing a robust sports program at Zayed University and collaborating in growing the female side of ADISL.

 

A sports and exercise science specialist, Charif joined Zayed University in 2010 and is a founding member of ADISL.

A keen gymnast from the age of 9, Charif started coaching aged 17 and studied in Ukraine, training with World and Olympic champions. He also studied in Southern California, coaching and producing USA junior gymnastics national team members and NCAA champions, along with national judging duties. Returning home to Lebanon, Charif held a dual position for the Lebanon Gymnastics Federation as Head Judge and Technical Committee Member, and taught Physical Education and Physical Therapy at a local university.

Charif is a graduate of American University of Beirut, Ukraine State University of Physical Education & Sports ( M.Sc.) and California State University Northridge (M.Sc.)

Alexandre Blaise

ADISL Secretary & Treasurer,

Head of Sports Department, Academics at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi

Alexandre is a Sport & Physical Education teacher, who is Head of the Sports Department and Director of the Sport Management program at Paris-Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi. He has been teaching sport and physical activities at the University of Paris-Sorbonne in France since 2004, serving as Deputy Director from 2006 to 2011.
As a keen scuba diver and instructor himself, Alex introduced the first courses of underwater archeology at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris 4) in 2007.


Alex is also a First Aid Instructor and a member of the jury for University of Bordeaux diploma course "Emergency First Aid & Care in the Field of Sport".

Ahmed H. Al Galabi

Head of Campus Life at The Petroleum Institute

A highly respected UAE sports professional, Ahmed played football for Al Jazeera and was a member of the UAE National Team. His coaching background includes stints at Al Jazeera SC, Al Wanda FC and the Manchester United Soccer School. 

 

Prior to becoming the Head of Campus Life at The Petroleum Institute, Ahmed worked for the UAE Ministry of Education. His higher education background and expertise is focused on inclusive participation and the implementation of various health, fitness and recreational programming. As a true "educator", he is an effective collaborator and proponent of establishing a healthy competitive environment for student-athletes.   

  

Ahmed has a BA in Sports Education.

Nemanja Krstic

Sports and Recreational Activities Officer at Abu Dhabi University

Nemanja is an accomplished professional athlete with 17 years of playing and 10 years of coaching experience in basketball and has won numerous league games and competed internationally. Nemanja is a specialist in coaching both competitive and non-competitive basketball focusing on the development of young players through extensive physical education knowledge and basketball expertise. He is a proven professional with great experience in setting up, developing, and managing sports academies in the UAE and Serbia.

 

Mr. Nemanja holds a BEc. in Management in the Financial Services Sector (Edconse University, Novi Sad) and an Associate Degree in Sport and Sports Recreation (Sports Academy, Belgrade). He also holds a Level 3 and Level 4 Personal Trainer Qualification (Fitness Collective Ltd. CYQ).

 

From 2013-2015, Nemanja represented Serbia in the unique and progressive coaching education program guided by FIBA Europe (FECC Coaching Certificate, Class 2013-2015) focusing on the development of young players.
